New shelf

not really considered green wood working in any sense as it is dryed pine from B&Q. But thought people on here might having something to say bout it. :D

Over the last couple evenings have been messing around with my new wooden shelf. was unhappy with a plain flat boring edge and had a go at carving a little decorative pattern on it as you can see:

Hi Rob

So what if its not green woodworking it is still handcrafted and an excellent exercise in carving a repeating pattern.

What are you planning to do next?

was thinking bout doing some diamond-diamond pattern instead of the square being between the diamonds. Or something a little more complex like a zigzag pattern maybe :-).

certianly is good for practicing good carving. plus its nice to do something repetitive. kinda like sewing in one way i guess. same movements over and over until you finish and get a lovely pattern.
