Wood-fuel Bulletin Board?

Postby gavin » Sat Jan 19, 2013 11:57 am

Does any one know of a low-tech wood-fuel bulletin board?
I am looking for something like this forum, where the ethos would be low-tech, (mostly) hand- or horse-powered processing.

If none exists already, I'll try to find someone start such a forum.

How could these headings be improved:
    sourcing wood
    bucking or crosscutting
    handling of cross-cut pieces
    extraction
    transport
    storage & drying

Moving from polelathe turning to green wood to trees or anything woody here.
The Dumfries and Galloway Woodfuel Forum might be a good start.

Thanks Bob, from the one meeting of theirs I attended, I reckon their approach is much more industrial and big machinery. I am looking for more low-tech solutions. But as there may well be folk in that forum who are interested in the low-tech, low-efficiency approach, I'll try them.
