DervishCarver,
Check out Don Weber a transplanted Welshman who has a school in Kentucky. He partners with Brian Boggs and several others but he wrote an article for Woodworking magazine way back when called, "A Bicycle Built for Bowls". It uses the sprocket/freewheel of a small bike to allow the continuous rotation by managing the feature that permits coasting when not pedaling. I have the plan, it isn't much and you can manage without it especially once you see the setup. Don set his up for indigenous people in the central Americas, Honduras or Guatemala perhaps and it presents the blank perpendicular to the bed, not along it. As it was designed for bowls first he goes on to mention it can be adopted to spindles. Sorry to be coming to this dance rather late. Terry V.
