Roughing out with a chain saw

Postby paul atkin » Thu Jul 25, 2013 8:32 pm

we all like to rough out with the axe but some times we need to speed things up a bit, i was prepping up for a demo this weekend today and needed a couple of dozen blanks, i searched this site and was surprised to see there is no info on chainsaw prep. So this is the way i have been doing things over the last few years. Take a good sized log standing about knee hight wack in a couple of spikes well away from the centre mandrel entry points and bash on your half log, trim with saw remove with wedge , pics to follow

Sir, thats because no one here owns or knows what a chainsaw is

Hi Paul,

Your idea seems okay but sincerely, I spend more time with a chainsaw than with an axe....maybe it is due to my chainsaw....

Christophe,
I like the device you illustrate. Do you have any more like this - perhaps there is some website with such gloriously un-useful machinery... ?
