Veteran Field Maple for turning

Recent heavy rain and wind has brought down a veteran Field Maple stem that has abundant epicormic growths that should provide specialist bowl turners with exceptional stock materials.

The stem is off the ground and can be cut to suit turner.

I am pleased to report that the veteran burr field maple has now been uplifted by Sally Burnett - ace wood turner ably assisted by John Spibey who carefully dissected the log to yield slab, burr and bowl material some of which had wavy grain.
