Bowl lathe pedal

Postby brian mahler » Sat Aug 08, 2015 7:29 pm

I have just made my first bowl lathe and am struggling to set up the pedal. Can anyone post a photo or two of their pedal set up or describe how their's is set?
Cheers

Hi Brian, check out this months Bodger Gazette there is a nice article showing good images of the treadle set up for a bowl lathe. In fact I might change mine to a similar style, mine works but is a bit clonky.

Brian,
This works for me. Cut a slot in the treadle to pass the drive belt through. Attach the drive belt onto (or loop over) the side stay. I have two blocks so I can switch from using left leg to right leg.
