Brian Boggs chair

Postby steve tomlin » Wed Feb 08, 2012 10:57 pm

Did anyone ever make a Brian Boggs style side chair? I'm investigating different styles and designs and interested in these chairs. Are there any plans or drawings on the web, it's a bit far to go to take the course.

I don't have the reference, but Brian has written about making his chairs for Fine Woodworking magazine in the past, and just recently for Popular Woodworking Magazine. a search of the back issue index for these might point you to his writings. In some eyes, (mine for instance) he is the best chairmaker in the US today...his work and workmanship is outstanding. He has some videos with Lie-Nielsen also, but I haven't seen them...

Thanks Mark but I've seen that already. It's the little 2/3 slat side chair that I'm interested it, wondering what kind of bend he puts in those back legs.

I just found this picture, taken at one of Brian Boggs chairmaking classes. It shows the back legs in their bending forms.
