Frame saw hardware

Postby anobium » Fri May 19, 2017 5:54 pm

I want to make a framesaw such as those seen on the Renaissance Woodworker site, about 36'' long.
The wood parts are no problem but how to obtain the metal parts including the blade in the UK? The hardware is available from the US but transport costs are prohibitive.

I thought these were more popular on the continent than in the UK.

Could try Dieter Schmid Fine Tools in Germany:

Delivery to UK is not a lot more expensive or slower than UK sellers. They also do a (pricey) frame saw kit, which I think originates from USA.

Or Dictum:

Or by some spring steel strip and a saw file (or two) :D
