New book on the shavehorse

Postby anobium » Sun Oct 09, 2016 7:57 pm

Guide de Travail Manuel du Bois by Bernard Bertrand. The book describes (in French) the shavehorse and the varieties of drawknives used. I met the author recently at a woody event near Uzerche in the Correze region (www.artisanatboisvert.com) and he said he may bring out a version in English next year. It is well illustrated so monoglots should manage. Price 35€ includes 1hr DVD.

I think Sean Hellman is doing a book about the shavehorse - what's happening with that Sean?

I personally ordered this book and I must say it is a very informative read on everything from what is a shave horse to the ergonomics of the shave horse in relation to one's personal body shape/size etc. Decent plans for building are included.

I think for the pro and novice alike, this book is a must have.

Cheers!
