I'm making whisky shot drink which made of elm wood, I'm sure if I'm correct to put food safety as I'm sure yu know that USA between U.K. are different opposition which they put epoxy glue/ couple coats of shellac, which I'm not aware these don't have safety food so I prefer to put couple coats of food safety for whisky shot drink before pour wee dram!! Any you has making it? What yu put it before using?

I'm not quite sure whether you're worried about the elm wood or the coating. Also, what is the opposition between the UK and USA?
