Postby sueamos » Mon Sep 21, 2015 10:42 pm

This is my first attempt at a welsh stick chair, I only had a small piece of wood to make a seat, so i made one for my grandson, please post any home made chair pictures for all to see.

What timber is the seat or base?
It looks to be softwood - did it split at the leg-holes?
How thick is the base?

hi gavin
the seat is sitka, back and arms elm, sticks and legs apple,
legs are tapered to ten degrees included, seat reamed to suit, luckily it didn't split, seat is just under 2 inch thick.
