Thickness of seat boards

Postby Simon Hartley » Thu Mar 03, 2016 1:54 am

I plan to make a post-and-rung chair with a board seat, rather than a woven one. This is the way Philip Clissett used to do it. Does anyone know how thick the boards were on his chairs?

Jack Hills has one in his book "Country Chair Making". He suggests 1/2 inch. Hope it goes well, have fun.
Make it, mend it, wear it out,
Make it do or do without.
