Could you each please include info on the courses below, which should be of interest to members. Incredibly good value, and Henry Russell (of Time Team fame and others) taught the courses for the building of Clissett Wood Barn, the Great Oak Hall at Westonbirt and many others.

Many thanks, Gudrun

Timber framing expert Henry Russell is running three one-week courses in traditional timber framing for the Forestry Commission at Biblins Youth Camp in the Forest of Dean by the river Wye. Students will work on a real project helping to build a magnificent open sided shelter incorporating four giant king post trusses. The frame will be made from local green oak, sweet chestnut and douglas fir and larch provided by the Forestry Commission.

Course Dates are: 14 - 18 August 2006
21 - 25 August 2006
28 August - 1 September 2006

Cost of £200.- includes delicious lunches, teas and accommodation in the on site log cabin at Biblins.

For an application form and further information contact the Forestry Commission on 01594 833057. There are limited places so book soon!
