wood for bodging

Postby scottyandrowan » Sat Mar 26, 2005 10:48 pm

Constant supply of a variety of native hardwoods, softwoods and ornamentals available in Surrey - inc. spalted beech, oak, robinia, lacewood etc.

If we haven't got it we can often source it from a pool of likeminded woodsmen - coppice product to substantial butts.

I also have many refurbished tools, e.g. axes, billhooks, drawknives, spokeshaves and a variety of old carpentry devices. Feel free to drop me a line with enquiries - again, if I dont have it I probably know someone that has!

I've been asked to repair a garden bench my son has. It is made of 2" and 3" diameter round timber poles, about 5ft long. I need about 6 of each. I have no idea what wood the bench is made of, can you tell me what wood it might be/or is suitable? Can you supply/access the wood I need? An idea of cost would be appreciated.
