The Encyclopedia of Green Wood Working

For anyone who has said, "I'd love to have a go but don't know where to start", start here! In 192 pages it manages to give basic instruction on many greenwood tasks together with introductions to making many greenwood products. From walking sticks to whistles and hurdles to spoons this is really is an encyclopedia of how to do things. For those enthused to try out some of the things in this book, Ray gives a bundle of references at the end of each chapter pointing you to further sources of information. This means that you can 'give it a go' and if you like it just take it further via the references.
This book, written with gentle humour, has clear instructions and excellent line drawings that illustrate the text. The style of writing makes one want to read on in search of more nuggets of insite, for which you will be rewarded in plenty for your effort. This book will make a good Christmas present but buy it early so you can sneak a good read first.
