No, Santa has a continous-motion (treadle) lathe of curious design :) Santa is turning from the end of the piece, rather than standing across. Well, I suppose you could. This is what happens when you let public relations people (or artists) design lathes:) I'm not even sure the thing would work, since the treadle is parallel to the bed. No concern of artist's. Certainly a concern to me :) But it's all good fun.
