Tree house

I came across this story on a design blog I was reading and I found it quite intriguing. It is the story of a Canadian software developer who found him self living in a car when everything had gone pear shaped. He decided to build a secret tree house on crown land, which I suppose is like a national park in the UK. He had to carry everything in by hand but he completed his quest.

This story has left me totally undecided about how I feel about it, on one hand I admire his drive and ambition, I like some of the tree house, not all of it, but I also have issues about someone doing their own thing on this type of land

The full story can be found here:

I have also noticed quite a few tree houses on the web, such as these from a forest hotel in Sweden:

Amazing. Beautifully unobtrusive, those "hotel rooms".

I really dig the first Tree house although I understand how you feel about that being done on public property.

In Canada, you have the right to sit on crown land. If I understand correctly he´s inside the law, & there is more crown land in Canada than you could possibly shake a stick at!
