National Coppice Federation

Postby Brian Williamson » Sat Dec 07, 2013 7:28 pm

Launched in the autumn of 2012, and with its formal launch in October of this year up in London, the NCFed is now up and running and getting nicely into its stride.

Stuff in the pipeline include the 2014 gathering in Hampshire in October; a national coppice restoration and improvement seminar in the Spring of 2015 and a proposed Conservation, Coppice and Commerce seminar later the same year. We're also working on the 100 Woods Campaign to bring new woods into proper, economic coppice management. There's a website on the way and a number of existing local Groups with more being nutured into existance.

If you're involved with coppice in any shape or form, be it hazel, chestnut, willow, ash or any other; be it for economic, conservation or amenity reasons; be you full-time, part-time or even an armchair enthusiast, and you'd like to be in touch with what's going on in the coppice world, we have an electronic mailing (The Cleft Stick) of which you can be in receipt. Just drop me a pm and I can put you on the mailing list.

I've had neither pm, guys. Has anyone else tried and failed? If so, presumably that means there's a problem at my end?

There is. And it's me.

For some reason I assumed I got notification of incoming pm's in my email in-tray, and hadn't bothered looking where I should have been looking. Responses are on their way.

Hi Brian,

I have just tried for a second time to send you a PM just like the chaps above.

After pressing "send" this messages appears in my PM "outbox" however there does not appear to be any facility to press the equivalent of a "send now" button and so I assume that this is set to automatically send messages at discrete intervals ?

I would appreciate if you could add me to your NCF distribution list.

Might this simply mean that it's been sent but that I've not yet opened the message?

Could the three of you (above) now confirm that your message to me appears to have gone? 'cause I've now opened and read all three. And Graigs.
