Hand tools for people with disabilities

Postby darraghk » Sat May 02, 2015 1:42 pm

I work in a woodworking project with people with learning disabilities. I'm on the lookout for tools that make the job easier for people who might have co-ordination difficulties etc. For example we have a log-splitter that runs a weight up and down a metal pole like this one http://copperwirestripper.net/product-r ... itter.html For someone who would have difficulty using an axe it's works quite well.

I'm just wondering if anyone has come across other tools that make things very simple and easy. For example it would be good to get a saw horse that had a guide to keep the cut straight (like a mitre saw but bigger).

If anyone has any experience of working with people with disabilities in this way it would be really helpful to hear your suggestions.

Many thanks
