Hawthorn for seats

Postby Frudd » Mon Mar 27, 2017 3:19 pm

I have 'aquired' myself some large diameter hawthorn and I had in mind to use a solid piece for a small 3 legged stool as my first foray into furniture. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using hawthorn in this way? How does it hold up etc? I have made a couple of spoons with it in the past so I am aware of how hard it is to work when dry but any other input would be much appreciated. I have some fairly straight ash for the legs which is drier than the seat.
