Power upgrade in server suite

Postby HughSpencer » Thu Jun 18, 2015 11:57 am

Dear all,
The suite that has this web site's server in is going to be overhauled on Saturday 20th June. The period when the server may go down is from 12:00 noon BST to 20:00 in the evening . Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I'm hopeful that the downtime will not be too long.

Regards
Hugh

Good thinking! I should have thought of that.
I'm on the train to London to start preparation work ahead of power changeover.
Fingers crossed it will all go well.

Well it turned out that by sheer fluke ash.bodgers.org.uk wasn't powered down by the changes to the power feeds in our colo suite. There may have been a brief glitch when other kit was power cycled but nothing as bad as I feared. I'm sourcing a replacement server onto which I shall move the Bodger's website in the near future. This will allow me to bring all the software up to date.
