Service Description

Unlock the timeless craft of pole lathe bowl turning with our intermediate course, designed to guide you through the enchanting process of turning raw wood into beautifully crafted bowls. This hands-on course will introduce you to the fundamentals of pole lathe turning, from understanding the tools and materials needed to master the techniques that allow you to shape wood with precision and care. Each participant will have a pole lathe, hook tools, and a bowl blank mounted on a mandrel ready for turning. By the end of the day, each person will have a wooden bowl measuring approximately 6 inches across. Please note- will be standing all day and there will be strain on knees, hips and upper body. Please consider this before booking - however, those with reasonable physical fitness should have no trouble completing the course . You will be working with sharp hook tools which will create a lot of shavings. There will be eye protection provided. You should also have enclosed shoes. Suitable for intermediate or those who have made at least 1 bowl before.
