The Association is proud to include many modern-day Bodgers in our ranks with pole-lathe turners, spoon carvers, blacksmiths, basket weavers, and chair makers to name a few of the heritage craftspeople making up our ranks.

 

A fair few of these capable individuals provide courses, tuition, and demonstrations as well as selling the incredible products they produce.

I am Based in north Essex/Suffolk, I run green woodworking experience days, covering all the basic skills you will need to get started in green woodworking. I run days, and half days. Participants will learn safe tool handling, selection, and use; billet preparation, carving with axe and knife; and pole lathe turning.

Most of my courses are provided through Suffolk Wildlife Trust at their Bradfield Woods venue - these include Steam Bending and Rake Making. I’d be happy to deliver one to one courses in steam bending possibly in my own workshop. I also make stools and chairs to commission but not always using green wood
