
Membership
Membership is open to anyone interested in pole-lathes or greenwood crafts, whatever your level of competence. By joining the APTGW you are becoming part of a worldwide group of people interested in green woodworking.
Join a local group to connect with like-minded people, discover courses, and find local toolmakers who can even create custom tools to your specification.
Membership runs from January to December of each year.
The APTGW is run by volunteers for everyone’s benefit, you can get involved and make new friends in the process.

Insurance Information
Public liability insurance for eligible members of The Association of Pole-Lathe Turners and Greenwood Workers is arranged by Howden Insurance Brokers Limited trading as Hencilla Canworth, a specialist insurance intermediary for the creative sector. The policy provides £5,000,000 of Public liability insurance for its qualifying members.
The policy is underwritten by Hiscox Insurance Company Ltd and is for members of The Association of Pole-Lathe Turners and Greenwood Workers as a benefit of membership for qualifying members, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the policy.
Qualifying members are
1. Any current Additional Benefits member of the Association of Pole-lathe Turners & Greenwood workers who is normally resident:
a. in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man; or
b. outside of the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands for claims arising from activities undertaken within the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands;
2. close family members of any current Additional Benefits member of the Association of Pole-lathe Turners & Greenwood workers undertaking activities to assist the Additional Benefits member with any activity insured by this policy. This does not include any activity undertaken by the close family member independently of the Additional Benefits member or any bodily injury sustained by the close family member in connection with any activity insured by this policy;
3. any personal service limited company of a Additional Benefits member providing that the Additional Benefits member is the majority shareholder and the sole director and employee of that company, other than a close family member engaged in clerical duties only. This does not apply to any other commercial or charitable organisation howsoever constituted
